final
Its the end of the semester, in my senior year that means i will still be working through the christmas break but thats what it is . I really enjoyed this class, i was able to read a lot of novels, some are that which i would have never done on my own but so glad i did. I would have never have read Warbreakers on my own, i absolutely loved that book, probally the best one we read in this class. The fantasy adventure books are my favorite, when i was young(12-16) i read lots of Conan novels, most were written by his creator Robert E. Howard but a few were written by Robert Jordan. Those books have the same feel as Warbreakers, i was almost picturing Conan to emerge and say the day while i was reading. To conclude, this class has gotten me back into reading, which is something i really needed to do anyway, and has inspired me to read more.
cyberpunk
the cyberpunk stories were pretty good, just that it reminds me of back in the day when i used to play a rpg of cyberpunk. in the game you have a character with 1 minor implant, as you progress you get more implants and cybernetic limb and so on, but the more cybernetics you get the more difficult it is for you to move around or interact with people without getting attacked, fun game. Bladerunner is one of my favorite sci-fi movies, glad we got to see some of it in class, its the core of the cyberpunk movement.

Warbreakers
well i finally got done with warbreakers, This is a great book! It has everything a great fantasy/adventure novel should, heroes and villains, kingdoms and armies, war and romance and mythical creatures. They really ought to make a movie from this epic story, with the movie technology of today they could make it good if they have the right director. The main thing about this world is their use and worship of color, the god of color, their curses of color is very different. Their hair changes color with emotions or feelings which i thought would be cool to actually see , the color of the land varies with the kingdoms and they worship the god of color ..... its all about color. I would definately recomend this book to anyone, especially those who like the fantasy / adventure stories.

magician or Narnia
i did not read the magicians, instead i read the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. I thought it was on the list of alternate readings but now im not seeing it. Anyway, I have watched the first 5 Harry Potter movies which i thought were great, i love stories of magic and adventure, the fact in the movies that the magic school is hidden makes sense hehe, i really liked the use of mythological beings in the stories like the basilisk, the phoenix, and griffons. The Chronicles of Narnia was a good movie but a better book, i first read it when i was 12 waaaay back in 1984 so reading it again gave me a different experience than i remembered, also seeing the movie gave me more visual reference but like most novels turned to movies they are very different. I also started to read the golden compass but only got about half way, i will finish it this weekend because like Narnia i saw the movie and now im getting a better view of the fantasy world created in the novel.

the hobbit is one of my favorite book all time, i read half of the book when i was a kid in high school, never got to finish it. I also watched the animated movie around the same time which was great. Now i got to read the book in full and loved it. i love these epic stories of adventure with goblins, trolls, dwarves, elves , armies and battle, magic, wizards and most of all the dragon.

Interveiw with the Vampire
this week i read Interview with the Vampire and Steven King's Salem's
Lot, two great novels. Interview with the Vampire is a great story of
vampires from the new world starting in New Orleans and then venture to Europe and Paris. the
book is great about telling you how the vampires see the world, how they
feel and basically what its like being a vampire. I have read the other
vampire chronicles books from Anne Rice - the Vampire Lestat and Queen
of the Damned , great books about the life of Lestat the vampire. Salem's Lot, written by the great author Stephen King, is set in a small New England town (like the majority of his books) and tell a very different story of the vampires living there.
Monster Island
the book was pretty good concidering the subject matter, zombies just freak me the hell out!!!!! i have watched Night of the living dead and return of the living dead, they were very creepy and freaked the hell out of me ruining all zombie related books/movies for me. but i did watch zombie land and parts of that was good. i still cant watch undead zombies wanting to eat your brains
